PHP on Google App Engine @ Planet Linux Caffe

My presentation at Planet Linux Caffe in Miami, Florida on PHP for App Engine.

Errata:  I mentioned that Google uses OAuth to communicate securely amongst the App Engine and Cloud SQL servers. Clarification: it uses OAuth for you to communicate when uploading code to Google App Engine; internally, it probably uses something else (secure SSH) to communicate amongst the servers, I am not completely sure about this.

  1. I am going to post a comment to address a question a got a lot during the presentation: Does App Engine use .htaccess file for web server configuration? The answer is no. It is not clear if it's actually using Apache as front web server, I believe it's a home grown web server with pieces from open source projects. All of this configuration goes into the application's .yaml file.
